As part of the world's #1 media and entertainment company, Time Warner Cable (TWC) makes the coaxial quiver. A unit of Time Warner, TWC is the #2 US cable company, after Comcast. It has 10.9 million subscribers, including more than 4.8 million digital video customers. TWC provides Internet access to more than 4.1 million customers, through both its own cable-based ISP, Road Runner, and through other providers. The company also partnered with MCI and Sprint in order to offer Digital Phone, a VoIP telephony service. Time Warner controls a 79% stake in TWC, and Comcast controls a 21% stake. The two rivals have teamed up to buy the cable assets of Adelphia Communications.
