Pioneer Telephone
Pioneer Telephone Cooperative provides telecommunications services to residents of the Sooner State. The company offers local and long-distance fixed-line telephone services as well as cellular wireless to residential and business customers. It offers both dial-up and broadband (DSL) Internet access and has begun providing wireless Internet service and digital TV in some markets. The cooperative also offers two-way paging, publishes its own yellow pages directory, and provides network installation services. Founded as a cooperative in 1953 to provide telephone services to rural Oklahoma residents, Pioneer Telephone has 140,000 members in 30 Oklahoma counties.
