Covista Communications
Covista Communications offers alternative telecommunications services to business and residential customers, mostly in Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Once primarily a long-distance provider, the company has added local service in some markets; it also provides Internet and data networking services. In addition to commercial and residential service, Covista sells wholesale termination services and colocation facilities to telecom carriers. It operates its own switching facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Dallas, and Minneapolis. Covista, which is controlled by chairman Henry Luken, has sold some long-distance assets to PaeTec in a deal valued at about $13.5 million.
